Green Archeticture: The ACROS Fukuoka
Main / Zamzows Blog

Green Roofs are Future to Sustainable Urban Architecture.

In Fukuoka City in Japan, this is the building called “ACROS Fukuoka” . Depending on point of view there two very distinct sides to this building: one side rembles a conventional office building with glass walls. The other side is a huge terraced roof with garden terraces, which reach up to roughly 60 meters above the ground. There are 35,000 + plants including over 76 species.

A green roof reduces the energy consumption of a building, because it keeps the temperature inside more constant and comfortable. Green roofs also capture rainwater runoff, and support the life of insects and birds.
