The plants that grow best in large shaded areas

What are the best shade loving plants in Idaho? Hostas or ferns or both. What plants would grow in a large shaded area?

Those are two great plant selections that will do just fine in Idaho. I would also recommend Huchera or they also call it Coral bells, perennial Astilbee and Ligularia are some of my favorites.
