See Spot Splash from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday August 29th at The Natatorium

See Spot Splash 2012 Take your dog for a dive! See Spot Splash from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday August 29th at The Natatorium, 1181 Warm Springs Ave. This off-leash play and swim party is sponsored by Boise Parks & Recreation and the Idaho Humane Society.

 

The event is free; donations will benefit Boise dog parks.

 

Boise’s municipal swimming pools close for the season on Aug. 26th but before the last pool is drained dog owners will have an opportunity let their pets enjoy a cool dip.

 

The maximum capacity is 50 dogs per hour. For the enjoyment and safety of all participants, sessions will start on the hour at 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

 

Here are some rules of the pool for See Spot Splash: Dogs only, please! No humans will be allowed in the pool Owners must be present and with their pets at all times All dogs must enter and exit the pool facility on a leash All pet handlers must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by an adult

 

All dogs are required to have current vaccinations No naked dogs; collars must be left on while swimming Handlers are limited to no more than two dogs No aggressive dogs or female dogs in heat Owners must pick up all droppings No food inside the pool area Small toys will be allowed (tennis balls, throw toys etc.) Dog owners will be asked to sign a waiver, which is available online at www.cityofboise.org/parks then click on “Pools.”

 

Boise Parks & Recreation and the Idaho Humane Society have collaborated on numerous projects over the years. In 2006, the popular See Spot Walk event raised $20,000 for installation of a dog park shelter in Morris Hill Park.
