Rose Hair Tarantulas are known for their calm temperament, attractive colors, and inexpensive price. Rose Hairs can not be housed together. The Rose Hair is able to re-grow limbs with successive molts.
Enclosure for the Rose Haired Tarantula
5-10 gallon aquarium provides more than adequate space to house the Rose Hair. Decorate with large, sturdy hiding places, as well as reptile vines and artificial plants.

Temperature and Humidity for the Rose Haired Tarantula
Rose Hairs are best kept at a temperature of @ 80 degrees F. and prefer a humidity level of 70%. The use of a humidity gauge is recommended.

The use of an under the tank heater is preferred and should be left on 24 hours a day. Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature with an ideal temperature of 80 F.

A 2.0 fluorescent light is sufficient. UVB lighting is not essential. The light should be left on for a daily period of 8-10 hours. For nighttime viewing, use a low-watt infrared bulb.

Crickets are the main diet (daily), but many adults will take a pinky mouse. Feeding is required less often when feeding larger meals (once every 2 weeks). Water bowls need to be shallow and should be about the same diameter as the spider’s abdomen. Place a sponge in the water dish to prevent the spider from drowning.
